Preface….
The history of Franciscan Clarist Congregation is the testimony of a handful of humble women being instrumentalized by the Almighty God for spreading His love. It is the saga of witnessing the Divine Providence in each and every juncture of life. With eight humble pious women and the paternal affection of Rt. Rev. Bp Charles Lavinge, FCC began its stride to “Holiness” with the armour of “Lowliness”. The seed that was planted by them at Changanasserry now has spread into 5 continents as 26 provinces and 4 regions in and out of India. Being in the 134th year of grace, FCC continues to sing God's praises and glories for all He has done through FCC to channel the Divine Love to the world.
The life story of Noberttamma, The Angel of Smile, is a sweet challenge to the new generation who fail to find meaning in a life of sufferings. Through her 54 years of life on a bed of cross, she proves that life is worth living amidst all kinds of sorrows, pains and loneliness. She remains as a cooling shade, shelter and a source of solace for those who are fighting their own battle of life through unanswerable bitter experience. She repeats, “To suffer is gain, to seek pleasure is vain.”
